Get "Veteran" Designation on My Driver's License

In order to qualify for the "Veteran" designation on your driver's license you must:
  1. Be an honorably discharged veteran
  2. Have served at least 90 days of active duty with at least one day during a period of war
  3. Be eligible for a new license or renewal (DOT will not give "Veteran" designation for duplicate cards)
  4. Present DD214 (military discharge) or applicable discharge document
  5. Present photo ID
  6. Report to the Muscatine County Veterans Affairs Office
The Veterans Affairs Director or designee will present you with the appropriate form and assess your eligibility.  After the form is completed and approved, you may take it to the DOT office.
